The Role: Reporting into the Global Director of Commercial Enablement & Strategic Engagement, this individual will be wholly accountable for the regional learning and development program for the Platts commercial group, across the Americas region.
The role will be regionally responsible for leading, overseeing, developing and maintaining commercial training programs aligned to regional needs and commercial initiatives across all of Platts. The individual in this role would partner with Global Head of L&D, regional VPs, regional training peers and various departments to assess training needs and to develop and deliver cohesive training solutions. Other key responsibilities will also include maintaining the training roadmap that will be tied to employee retention, career path and more importantly to build a training process that will be embedded in the Platts culture. In addition, provide oversight and continued development over the regional graduates upon returning from initial phase of onboarding training.
This individual will drive the development and active utilization of training roadmaps for all Commercial staff in order to provide a strong professional development culture across the division. In addition to working closely with the Commercial Group, the role will partner with HR and Corporate L&D, in special projects related to staff development.

The Team: The role is currently a stand-alone role working in a collaborative, integrated Operations team structure with a regional remit that focuses acutely on implementing change and getting things done. The team prides itself on being pillars of support to the internal operations of Platts Commercial Group.
The Impact: The Platts Commercial Group is continuously growing the skillsets of its talent in order to develop content and products that will contribute to Platts' five-year growth plan of $1billion. Subsequently, this role is charged with leading and supporting, in partnership with the regional Sales Leadership team, development programs to enhance the skillset of Platts' talent which is key to strengthening the core. The Commercial Group is currently undergoing a sales transformation program and this role will be instrumental in supporting and achieving this goal across a regional / global staffing population of more than 300 employees.
What's in it for you: As the Regional L&D Manager for the Commercial Group, this individual has a key seat at the regional table with local leadership of the Commercial Group. Additionally, this role will have visibility across Platts and S&P Global on far reaching L&D projects as they relate to the aligned region.
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $74,400 to $228,700. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
Participate in developing the global learning and development program and strategy for Platts Commercial team that scales and integrates regional needs into a standardized program.
Working with regional senior stakeholders and global head of L&D, to develop and execute a learning culture through an aligned development vision for the Platts Commercial group.
Works with the regional sales leaders and operations team to develop an annual strategy for L&D
Assess new training development needs across the commercial group. In addition support the development, re-design and implementation of existing and new training materials.
Lead representative with corporate L&D function
Drive excellence in onboarding, continually looking to support regional / global new hires and managers and ensure the onboarding experience at Platts is equitable and scalable globally, protecting our talent investment and retention strategies
Design and promote e-learning strategy where applicable
Own and drive the sales methodology training working in close partnership with vendors, internal and external partners
Be accountable for the success of the Platts sales methodology training, designing and delivering sales training materials and supporting collateral
Partner with Product Marketing and Sales Enablement to produce timely and relevant disruptive sales training material to support sales efforts and initiatives related to product or service delivery priorities
Take a seat on regional corporate councils, working groups and task forces to drive forward the project initiatives and support all training and adoption requirements for global projects
Provide training and L&D expertise to support all the commercial projects, with a specific focus on sales methodology, graduate schemes, pricing and packaging and One Voice sales culture.
Advocacy of wider learning across content, promoting the sharing of knowledge and learning across the organization (e.g. through lunch & learns)
Responsible for updating training roadmap and ensuring execution against training priorities
Continuously evaluate current training curriculums (through surveys; observation and internal/external feedback) and recommend necessary changes/adjustments
Measures, monitors and analyzes L&D progress through metrics dashboard and regularly reports to management teams
Lead the development and updates to the Commercial Group's L&D curriculums, and other L&D content
Ensure continuity and integrity of commercial online course resources, as well as other Learning Xchange training content that is relevant to Commercial
Ensure timely schedule of updates are implemented to training materials.
Ensure that training courses are available and coordinated at appropriate frequencies across major offices and in satellite offices
Support the continuing development for the Platts graduate program and support the regional programs on an as-need basis
Manage/Support Talent Programs
Take ownership and be fully accountable for the regional planning and execution of Talent.
Oversee L&D resources
Serve as the primary point of contact for regional SME trainers within and outside the commercial group for mandatory training requirements.
Ensure continuity of trainers by providing a robust train-the-trainer certification program
Ensure that trainers demonstrate best practices for training
Coach resources involved in training efforts
Lead the evaluation of trainers in the classroom
Recruit internal resources for instructor roles as needed
Act as point for engagement with external vendors based in assigned region
Training solutions: Build, Design and Deliver
Designs, develops and/or delivers effective training materials/learning programs/initiatives that will enhance commercial performance
Pilots and evaluates delivery of content to ensure appropriate delivery is sustained on an ongoing basis
Ensure Training documentation is maintained
Align Platts training content with those practiced across S&P Global

Previous experience in L&D development in a regulated business is highly desired.
Prior exposure of working in a Sales organization is highly desired
Training qualification/certifications preferred but not essential
Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, written and presentation)
Proven experience of influencing change in driving new processes and behaviors
Ability to facilitate group working sessions and deliver training
Strong team-building and collaboration skills - able to bring diverse groups together and get buy-in
Ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders including senior level management, located globally.
Strong project management experience is essential
Strong ability to deliver and execute learning plans/programs
Strong organizational skills and ability to problem-solve
Strong computer literacy with mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Access, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Paint; and previous experience with training development applications - preferably Articulate
Ability to Travel up to 20%
