TheRole: S&P Global Commodity Insights is looking for a Pricing Analyst on the North American Natural Gas Pricing team. This person will work on a team that analyzes market dynamics, writes regional commentaries, and produces price assessments related to the wholesale natural gas markets which help customers make informed trading and risk management decisions.
The Location: Houston, TX
The Team: The Natural Gas Pricing team works collaboratively to analyze trade and activity data, incorporating market knowledge to publish price assessments used by clients. They report on spot and forward prices and the factors moving markets through various mediums, including commentaries, stories, podcasts, and presentations. The business has a casual and friendly atmosphere with a focus on its people.
The Impact: You'll be part of a team that produces actionable and informative content in the industry leading Gas Daily publication and other S&P Global Commodity Insights products. The benchmark daily and monthly price assessments are vital to our customers in providing price transparency to physical markets and to settle exchange and bilateral contracts. The content will inform customers regarding supply and demand developments, commodity flows, price trends, and infrastructure and regulatory issues.

What We're Looking For: We are looking for detail-oriented candidates who possesses a high level of intellectual curiosity - especially with regard to energy markets. Strong written and verbal presentation skills are critical. Must be able to work within deadlines and handle multiple tasks. Ability to initiate and push projects through to completion. Candidates should be responsible and accountable and work to create a positive and collaborative work environment.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Economics, Finance, Communications, English or related field)
Reporting, writing, or analytical background preferably in the energy industry.
Understanding of commodity markets
Physical natural gas market knowledge
Price assessment experience
Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills a plus
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $49,400 to $98,200 . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
