The Land Specialist provides assistance concerning land acquisition, easements acquisition, acquisition of purchase water, system capacity exceptions, engineering coordination, legislative assistance, rate cases and developer relations in Texas. Will also assist in one-time projects as these arise.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Research deeds and titles to determine land and easement ownership.
Assesses property and easement values and negotiates price for acquisition, lease, or access.
Analyzes data of water systems to provide for alternative minimum exceptions from the TCEQ.
Collaborates with engineers and follows through with them on projects.
Manages and coordinates with engineers with regards to water distribution maps and sewer collection maps.
Monitors operational activities for compliance with lease or other obligations.
Works with general counsel and legal department, when necessary, in preparation of contracts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee works in a climate-controlled office environment shared by other employees and will regularly visit/work at project locations.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, water/wastewater utility experience is preferred.
Driver’s License: Hold a valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record as determined by Company insurance carrier; Familiar with safety practices and rules applicable to job duties.
