Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Perfusion Manager for the Cardiac services department at Morristown Medical Center.

01. Responsible for operating the Heart/Lung machine while safely maintaining patient cardiac output, tissue oxygenation, and hemodynamics during cardiopulmonary bypass.
02. Administers medications and blood components through the extracorporeal circuit.
03. Responsible for drawing blood samples from the extracorporeal circuit and making adjustments to maintain normal blood gas parameters.
04. Maintains adequate anticoagulation during cardiopulmonary bypass.
05. Initiates ECMO and monitors patients while on ECMO.
06. Operates the cell saver.
07. Operates the HIPEC machine and AngioVac circuit.
08. Maintains quality controls for iStat and TEG as well as interpreting results.
09. Works closely with the other members of the operating room team to provide the safest and best possible care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
10. Build, maintain, prime and breakdown perfusion equipment, as needed.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
12. Ensures all documentation is completed per protocol.

13. Assembles and monitors ventricular assist device.
Leadership functions:
01. Oversight of perfusion and perfusion technician team members.
02. Responsible for assigning team members to cases, approving PTO time, arranging for sick call coverage, emergency coverage assignment, as needed.
03. Oversees inventory management and equipment maintenance for all perfusion equipment and disposables. Works with vendors to ensure adequate supply of perfusion supplies. Anticipates supply needs and proactively manages inventory.
04. Represents the perfusion service in leadership meetings.
05. Conducts monthly perfusion staff meetings.
06. Responsible for team member development and team performance evaluations.
07. Responsible for overseeing quality performance metrics, team productivity metrics.
08. Responsible for clinical case coverage, pumping a minimum of 40 cases per year.
09. Other responsibilities as requested by Director, Cardiac Services.

Required Education and/or Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited Perfusion program
• Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
• At least 7 years experience as a perfusionist.
• New Jersey State Perfusion License
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment along with having good communication skills.
