Job Description Summary:
The Financial Analyst III P16, under supervision, performs professional accounting functions, including maintaining accounting records, managing, analyzing, auditing, and advising management on department financial data and accounts, and identifying concerns and reporting findings. In addition, is responsible for managing, analyzing, and advising management on real property division of interests.
Responsibilities:
Perform general accounting functions and record keeping for the department.
Prepares and analyze financial transactions.
Analyze and audit financial documents and statements, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain, manage, analyze, audit, and reconcile financial data and accounts.
Review, establish, maintain, and improve financial and revenue management system.
Identify trends and forecast/project revenues and expenses.
Perform deposits and other account transactions.
Develop and maintain forecasting models, illustrate financial data, define metrics, analyze variances, and report findings.
Research and analyze data pertaining to budgeting, accounting, and departmental issues.
Coordinate with and assist management in strategic decision-making.
Manage and perform tasks associated with the intake, review, analysis, verification, preparation, and distribution of division of interest documentation.
Review third party contractual and statutory obligations and manage compliance enforcement.
Respond to internal and external inquiries of division of interest and curative items.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on financial topics and division of interest topics to drive department performance.
Prepare routine, thematic, and specialty reports and presentations for stakeholders.
Stay updated on industry trends and ensure compliance with financial and land-related regulations.
Assures compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Possess knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications, financial/revenue management applications, and land data management applications.
Possess abilities to multitask, and work both independently and cooperatively with others.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess attention to detail.
Possess advanced analytical and organizational skills.
Capable of working with large data sets.
Familiar with terminology and practices associated with the following industries: oil & gas, utilities, royalty management, and land management.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
