Varnum LLP is seeking an experienced Energy/Natural Gas attorney to join our Environmental, Energy, and Natural Resources practice team.  The successful candidate will be able to practice out of any of our Michigan offices.  The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of legal experience, with law firm experience strongly preferred. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in joining a highly regarded Michigan-based law firm with a national client base.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of rules and regulations governing energy production and transmission/transportation as well as experience with matters at the Michigan Public Service Commission, including utility rate making cases and dispute resolution.  Experience with Power Purchase Agreements and other energy contracts involving renewable energy would be nice to have but not required.

Successful candidates will possess excellent academic credentials; the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and quality; exceptional attention to detail; and outstanding customer/client service skills. Admission to the Michigan bar is required.
