Forsite Renewables is looking for a contract landman located in the Northeast United States. As a Contract Landman, you will be responsible for cold-calling landowners, traveling to site to visit with landowners, negotiating lease rates or purchase prices, negotiating lease or purchase terms, requesting lease supporting documents, researching or engaging third parties to research chain of title, supporting landowner signature of leases, and securing easements from the Area of Interest (AOI) to the Point of Interconnection (POI), when applicable. The Director of Land will provide direction to the Contract Landman including what sites have been vetted for leasing opportunities, but the Contract Landman is solely responsible for allocating his or her time efficiently and effectively to achieve a successful project leasing program.
Additional duties will include;
Creating and maintaining Google Earth (.kmz) files for the specific projects
Creating and maintaining Landowner databases for each project
Regularly reporting to the Director of Land or other Forsite Renewable Management
Filing Memoranda of Lease in the local county clerk’s office
Mailing hard copies of leases and file-stamped Memoranda of Lease to the Forsite home office
Minimum (five) 5+ years’ experience required as a Landman
Must have at least three (3) year to five (5) years plus in Renewable Leasing
Solar acquisition experience required
RPL (Registered Professional Landmen) or RL (Registered Landmen)
Must have Right of Way (ROW) Acquisition experience
Must have Surface Title experience permitting associated to renewables projects
Exposure to working knowledge and general understanding of Civil Land Survey, Geophysical, Environmental
Experience with large scale electrical transmission work is a plus
