DAI Management Consultants is a consulting firm specializing in the power generation and energy infrastructure sectors. The DAI team provides project technical assessments and economic analysis for the largest financial institutions in the U.S. and leading electric power development companies. In 2018, DAI performed technical and valuation services on over $3 billion of solar and wind projects in addition to conventional (gas, nuclear) and emerging technologies (fuel cells, energy storage).
You’ll be working with DAI’s consulting practice in our Carnegie Pittsburgh, PA office. Our consulting practice assists our clients in solving complex valuation and technical analysis challenges. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our team experts work to develop and implement economic analysis and technical assessments that solve our clients' most critical problems.
What You'll Do
You will work on client projects in the finance, power generation, and energy infrastructure sectors.
You will be part of a team and take responsibility for your own part of the problem solving. You will play a key role in gathering data and contributing to the team's recommendations, and you will work directly with senior client executives. You will also have a voice in determining the team's style and delivery of work.

From gathering and analyzing data, to interviewing stakeholders or presenting your findings to clients, the range of issues to which you will be exposed will mean that you are constantly acquiring new skills and experience. Job Description and Responsibilities
The Analyst is an integral member of a project team that includes engineers and financial analysts
Write technical reports for power and renewable energy generation assets or related technologies, including economic evaluations
Run commercial software for forecasting solar PV system production (SAM, PVSyst)
Assist financial analysts with the development of cash flow models for power generation assets
Review project contracts, construction drawings, and technical documents
Model power plant generation, operating expenses, emissions, and capital costs
Perform company, industry, and market analysis
Respond to client questions about research
Inspect power generating facilities and review operations/maintenance
Prepare written reports and presentation materials
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering, physics or other science
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
Exceptional problem-solving ability including logical reasoning, creative thinking, and the ability to untangle complex issues
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Flexible individual with the ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities
Positive consideration will be given to candidates who possess the following:
3-10 Years of experience in the renewable energy industry with particular focus on solar, wind, fuel cells and waste processing facilities
Previous Consulting Engineering experience, project development and/or project finance experience
Exposure to energy economics
Relevant business experience with power markets, development, or operations
Experience with solar systems or other alternative energy technologies
Understanding of project finance and cash flow analyses
Experience with electrical equipment/systems
