The Division Order Landman (the “DOL”) is responsible for setting up joint interest billing and revenue decks and all things required to do so including, but not limited to, reviewing permit plats and calculating allocation factors, analyzing contracts, assignments, and leases as well as reviewing title opinions and working with the attorneys to assist in fulfilling title opinion requirements. The DOL is also responsible for the proper distribution of revenues obtained from oil and gas production or other minerals, which includes ongoing maintenance of the mineral, royalty, overriding royalty and leasehold ownership of those wells.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze title opinions and associated runsheets and curative documents. Coordinate with Legal on which requirements must be cured as well as coordinate with the field brokers, if necessary, to cure said requirements.
Set up new joint interest billing and revenue decks for wells.
Create and maintain ownership records and title records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Interpret oil and gas leases and related contracts to determine impact on ownership.
Review joint operating agreements to determine non-consent penalties for setting up APO/BPO decks.
10 years Division Order and Lease Analyst experience or 5 years of Landman experience.
East Texas oil and gas title experience required.
Possess strong title and technical knowledge and analytical expertise.
Proficient in the use of spreadsheets for well set up.
Excalibur and Quorum Experience.
Experience with allocation wells and the process of calculating allocation factors.
Landman experience to be a mix of field and in-house.
