Providence Energy Ltd (“Providence” or the “Company”) is a growing and dynamic privately held, family-owned energy investment and management company formed in 1993 and based in Dallas, Texas. Currently, Providence owns and/or manages approximately 6 million gross acres of minerals with interests in over 10,000 producing oil and gas wells. More recently, the focus has been acquiring and developing upstream oil and gas properties across the United States as well as expanding its renewable energy holdings, including in hydro-power, wind, solar and alternative fuel-based power generation projects. Providence is seeking an experienced HR Manager who is attuned to the financial and human resource needs of the organization’s employees while serving as a contributing member in various leadership capacities. Successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and administrative skills, as well as be able to interact with employees among all levels of the organization to establish positive and productive working relationships.
The Human Resources Manager (“Manager”) will be responsible for all human resources activities, including HR reporting (federal and state), compliance, employee onboarding, employee relations and employee compensation. In addition, the Manager will administer and manage Providence Energy, Ltd.’s employee payroll, benefits and compensation programs and play a critical role in developing and maintaining various programs to ensure high employee satisfaction, morale, and performance management.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Reporting and Compliance (Federal and State)
Manage and perform payroll processing and submitting the required reports to both federal and state agencies on a timely basis
Ensuring all employment-related reporting requirements from various agencies (OSHA, EEOC, etc.) are met and submitted timely and accurately.
Employee Onboarding, Relations, Review, and Talent Management
Recruiting and Hiring
Assisting with the Company's recruiting efforts; including advertising for positions, identifying qualified candidates, and working with department managers to understand department needs.
Working with the Company's general counsel to set forth and administer employment contracts.
Administering Company Policy
Updating, reviewing, and distributing the Company handbook as well as establishing and administering general HR policies (e.g., managing employee vacation, PTO schedules, other miscellaneous HR issues).
Year-End Reviews & Employee Assessment
Managing and maintaining the year-end performance review process; including aiding the department managers in their respective review process, helping with the establishment of employee goals, career development, and training.
Development of job descriptions and presenting recommendations to the Leadership Team
Perform market and employee surveys, compile data/information and make recommendations to Leadership Team
Maintain awareness of the employee climate and work to retain and develop talent within the organization
Manage Employee Compensation, Benefits, and Retirement programs
Work with the Leadership Team to manage the transition from utilizing a 3rd-party HR vendor to establishing an internal human resource function.
While the position’s primary focus is not financial in nature, the Human Resources Manager must be experienced in, or show a strong aptitude to learn, payroll systems and HR software programs (HRIS systems) in order to be able to operate, understand and clearly communicate the Company’s payroll, savings, benefit and health plans, both to individual employees as well as to a broader Company audience.
Must be proficient in the entire pay and benefits administration process including establishing competitive pay and promotion strategies, communicating the benefit plans, accurately process payroll and benefit changes, and promoting all programs to employees.
Manages the Company’s worker’s compensation program, including ensuring employees are properly-trained in performing their duties according to safety guidelines, promoting injury prevention efforts, and working with the insurance carrier and management to ensure compliance with state workers compensation requirements.
Administer all employee leave programs (sick, personal, Family Medical Leave); ensuring such programs are compliant with state and federal requirements.
