Our next internship program runs through the summer of 2021. We're looking for students who are working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent), and due to complete their studies in 2022.
You will be an Intern in the Energy & Natural Re-sources division at IHS Markit, working in the Oil Markets, Midstream and Downstream group. Our experts in this group provide comprehensive historical and forward-looking data and analysis on downstream global oil.
What you will do
Analyze data from various databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development and business strategies
Manage, maintain, and enhance proprietary supply and demand models and databases
Advanced Microsoft Excel, VBA programing is a plus.
Use Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI to interrogate data
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
Collaborate with team members and support client retention of ongoing research deliverables .

To be an ideal fit for the role, you should have:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) completed no later than May 2022
0-6 months relevant work experience
Demonstrated passion or interest in one or more of our key industries
Excellent communication skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting
Be legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country for which you apply
Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance or related field
Experience with programming languages such as R/Python is a plus
Good knowledge of PowerBI
A passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets
Be an effective communicator, self-motivated, and able to drive insights into actions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
Fluent English language (second language a plus)
Ability to explain a technical subject to a non-technical audience
Analytical skills, methodological thinking and problem-solving capabilities .
