Responsible for the programming, set up and operation of C.N.C. milling machines.
Program, set up and operate Haas C.N.C. milling machines. Instructs the users of the shop on proper use of tools and safety regulations. Fabricate parts using manual machines. Assist with shop operations and personnel.
High School diploma supplemented by vocational machine shop and technical courses such as mathematics, physics, or blueprint reading. Five (5) years of combined experience: as a journeyman machinist or instrument maker or the equivalent experience. Experience in programming and operating CNC mills. Experience maintaining all machines and equipment in the shop. Experience designing and manufacturing work holding fixtures. Must be able to operate shop equipment such as manual lathes and milling machines, and surface grinder.
Expert machinist with ten (10) years of experience operating CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, drill press, micrometers, sine bar and other precision measuring devices. Capable of maintaining mills and lathes. Capable of operating and maintaining various saws, grinder, sanders, sand blaster, shear and other related equipment. Capable of welding (TIG, MIG, and gas). Experience as a lead man or foreman. Familiarity with all manual lathes, mills, saws, grinders, welders, and general shop equipment and tools. Fluent with all measurement tools. Experience working with students and faculty to enhance designs to make manufacturing easier. Experience supervising shop operations and personnel.
