Job PurposeThe Journeyman Lineman will perform the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground high voltage power lines. This position will set poles and change pole equipment; string and sag wire; handle oil-filled equipment; pull, lay, and terminate underground cable; install pad-mounted equipment; work on poles, in bucket trucks, in heights and close proximity to high voltages, in trenches, in vaults; and operate and work around heavy equipment. This position works with other departments and assists other employees as directed within the scope of their qualifications.

Trico is a non-profit electric distribution cooperative located in Marana, Arizona, serving more than 44,000 customers in seven districts including, northwest Tucson, Marana, Three Points, Sahuarita, Green Valley, Arivaca, Sasabe, Corona de Tucson, Vail, Mt. Lemmon and Saddlebrooke.
Area farmers and ranchers organized Trico in 1945 under the Rural Electrification Act that was enacted to bring electricity to the rural areas of the United States. Three years later, Trico’s first electrical lines were energized.
