 Refrigeration Mechanic Department Description The Plant Operations & Maintenance (PO&M) Department is a 24 hour, seven day a week operation responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of buildings, systems, and grounds at the UC Davis Health System that includes 148 acres and structures that total 4 million GMSF. Plant Operations & Maintenance is one of the largest operations and maintenance support providers to clinical, administrative, research, SOM and SON departments throughout the Health System. UC Davis Health System is one of several UC campuses that have their own cogeneration, central power plants. Cogeneration (Combined Heat and Power or CHP) is the simultaneous production of electricity and heat, both of which are used throughout the Medical Center Campus and is supported by Plant Operations & Maintenance 24x7x365. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The Refrigeration Mechanic has journeyman level experience which includes analysis of control, electrical, plumbing, and refrigerant cycle malfunction to provide dependability and optimal performance of the campus refrigeration systems. The Refrigeration Mechanic will work in cooperation with other skilled crafts mechanics to ensure all specification, legislation and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of projects.
