Sustainable Landscape Technician I
San Antonio River Authority
Operates equipment and performs manual labor necessary to maintain vegetation, in green infrastructure features, recreational features, and hardscape features; to ensure the enjoyment and safety of the public on San Antonio River Authority property. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

A High School diploma or G.E.D. plus one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in the operation and maintenance of landscape or agricultural equipment; green infrastructure best management practices or a combination of experience and education that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A thorough knowledge of the green infrastructure systems; familiar with the following to include but not limited to: horticulture, forestry, landscape architecture, ecology, natural resource management, water resources, conservation, park management; ability to attain a Handlers Verification Card within six (6) months of employment; ability to demonstrate the knowledge of safe herbicide mixing and the ability to read and understand herbicide labels; familiarity with basic plant identification, best land management practices, chemical/pesticide application, agriculture and/or related fields; knowledge of safe boating practices and operation; ability to work independently; ability to swim; and computer proficiency in the current Microsoft Office package is required. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record. |
Additional Salary Information: Minimum salary is $15 an hour depending on experience
