Exhibiting stewardship for the cooperative, the Lineman professionally represents the cooperative in providing and maintaining safe and reliable electric service to the membership while carrying out the objectives of the System Operations department.

Core Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities described below are the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be all inclusive for this position.
· Perform outage restoration and service quality checks when required.
· Construct and maintain overhead and underground line (single-phase, three-phase, double-circuit, energized or de-energized.)
· Help with on the job training of apprentice linemen.
· Install and maintain line apparatus; transformer, regulators, capacitors, metering, etc.…
· Operate trucks and equipment to set poles, install underground wire, and perform hot work on live primary and secondary line.
· Responsible for following all cooperative safety policies and procedures.
· Interpret maps, staking sheets, specifications, blueprints, and diagrams.
· Must know RUS specifications; inspect completed work to see that it meets all specifications and safety codes.
· Dig pole and anchor holes; frame and set poles and anchors; install guy wire, sag and tie-in conductors.
· Install yard-lights and street-lights; perform maintenance as required.
· Install service drops; connect electrical services.
· Investigate consumers’ complaints and outage reports; take necessary measures to restore service or to correct or repair service facilities.
· Patrol, sectionalize, and clear line trouble. Fuse and change out transformers and oil circuit-reclosers.
· Complete outage report forms and material tickets as required or directed
· Serve as a lead lineman and direct a crew as required.
· Perform other work-related activities as requested by supervisor.
Classification · Non-Exempt
· This is a safety sensitive position.
· Reports directly to the Line Superintendent and/or the Line Foreman.
· Decisions and duties are monitored and reviewed that have a distinct impact on the organization. Work requires a high degree of responsibility for information, technology and/or equipment.
· Position has supervisory responsibility of other lineman and apprentices from time to time.

Specific requirements and competencies include:
· Solid Educational Background - High-school diploma or equivalent. Courses in electricity are desirable.
· Preference will be given to a person who has attended hot-line school. Must have completed an Apprentice Lineman Program
· Must have completed Central’s Smart Grid training program or the ability to complete within one year of employment.
· Must be CPR and First Aid certified or possess the ability to obtain such certification within one year of employment.
· Must have and maintain a valid Oklahoma "Class A" Driver’s License and meet all D.O.T. requirements.
· Must be able to pass required Cooperative and Department of Transportation physical examinations and drug testing.
· Must have previous experience in the construction and maintenance of electrical distribution line and service.
· Must possess a working knowledge of the construction and maintenance of overhead and/or underground electric distribution lines and substations, including the installation of meters, transformers, voltage regulators, capacitors, sectionalizes, and oil circuit-reclosers.
· Must know RUS/CREC Construction Specifications and be familiar with the National Electric Safety Code.
· Must know how to use tools and equipment safely on energized and de-energized line.
· Must be proficient in pole-top and bucket rescue procedures.
· Must be skilled at pole-climbing and in using lineman's tools while working on a pole.
· Should be adept at working with all materials, equipment, and apparatus used in the construction and maintenance of electric distribution lines, substations, and consumer services, and be able to carry out those responsibilities without supervision.
· Should be able to serve as a lead lineman and take a crew out at any time.
· Must prepare or complete all required forms and reports.
· Must have basic computer skills.
· Must become familiar with all company policies and procedures.
